Makkah 2 Medina

Footsteps of the Prophet (PBUH) series

This is a challenge unlike any other and for five days it will push your limits. Experience the raw beauty of the desert and relive history in the most immersive way possible.

Hijrah Route

You won’t just read about the Hijrah, you’ll be part of it. Cycling across the route from Makkah to Medina, stopping in between cycling and rest days to physically walk/trek the Hijrah route.

We will camp in the desert, pray under the open sky, and walk the very paths of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), this experience will stay with you forever In shah Allah.

Cycling 60 Miles a day for 5 days

You will cycle an average of 60 miles a day, but you won’t do it alone. A team of experienced brothers will be with you all along the way including the now infamous Rashid Ali from London 2 Makkah fame.

With full training provided and being surrounded by a strong brotherhood of like-minded men you will work towards a shared goal of reaching the beloved city.

CAMPING

You will camp for 2 nights in the desert, sit by the campfire, and enjoy freshly cooked traditional Arabian food.

As you traverse the majestic dunes, the serenity of the desert will envelop you, offering a profound sense of peace and connection to the timeless landscape. The night skies, untainted by city lights, will unveil a tapestry of stars, guiding your thoughts back to ancient times. Embrace the stories of old as you journey along the same paths once walked by our ancestors.

Umrah and the beloved’s city

Along the way, you’ll visit key historical sites where the Prophet (PBUH) walked, guided by experts who will bring the Seerah to life with powerful storytelling around the campfire.

As part of this unique experience, you will perform Umrah, guided by experienced brothers who will ensure your pilgrimage is meaningful and deeply spiritual. Then, after days of perseverance and reflection, you will arrive in Medina the City of the Prophet. You will step inside Masjid An-Nabawi, visit the Prophet’s (PBUH) blessed burial site, and experience the peace and tranquillity of one of the holiest places on earth.

The Cause

Through the New Beginnings, New Settlements programme, we are working to support new Muslims in South America by helping to build mosques, schools, and community facilities. Every pedal stroke will contribute to strengthening their foundations, ensuring they have the resources and support they need to flourish.

Led by Rashid Ali
This expedition is guided by Rashid Ali, the first man to cycle from London to Makkah and the first to walk the actual Hijrah route from Makkah to Medina. His experience and leadership will ensure that this journey is unforgettable.
