Every Qurbani is an act of remembrance.
When Ibrahim (AS) prepared to sacrifice his son and Allah sent a ram in his place, a tradition was established that Muslims have honoured ever since. We sacrifice an animal, and we give the meat to those who have none. For many families in Bangladesh it is the one day of the year they eat meat.
This Eid ul-Adha, Blackstone distributed Qurbani in Sylhet, Bangladesh. Every share was given away in full to vulnerable families in the area and to a local madrasa caring for orphaned children with no family to sacrifice on their behalf. Families in Sylhet received fresh Qurbani meat this Eid, including orphaned children at a local madrasa who would otherwise have had nothing.
The obligation of sacrifice
Qurbani is an obligation on every Muslim who possesses wealth above the nisab threshold. The sacrifice must take place during the days of Eid ul-Adha, the 10th to 13th of Dhul Hijjah, and cannot be delayed beyond that window. For those who give through a charity, the obligation is fulfilled and every portion of the meat goes directly to families who have no means to sacrifice themselves.
Blackstone feeds all year, not just at Eid
Blackstone runs feeding programmes all year. During Ramadan 2026 we delivered thousands of hot meals in Gaza, food packs to families in Bangladesh and Kenya, and hygiene and water distributions to communities in need. When you give through Blackstone, your money supports work that runs every month of the year.
