The vibrant region of Sylhet, known for its lush landscapes and rich culture, faces a dire crisis. Unprecedented floods have isolated entire communities, with rising waters cutting people off from their neighbours, friends, and families. In some areas, the only way to reach those stranded is by Nowkas (small boats) navigating through what were once bustling roads.

Blackstone is at the forefront of the emergency response, tirelessly working to deliver crucial aid to those most affected. Our teams are navigating challenging conditions to provide life-saving packs to the isolated and vulnerable. These packs are filled with essential, non-perishable food items such as rice and pasta, which are crucial for survival when all other food sources have been washed away. They also contain fresh water, sugar, tea, hygiene products, and medicines.

The situation is heart breaking with people who have not eaten in days. They watch helplessly as their food stores, carefully saved rice, and newly sown crops are destroyed by the relentless floodwaters. The floods show no sign of receding, and with every passing day, and the risk of starvation and disease escalates. Day labourers, who rely on manual work such as construction, fieldwork, and factory jobs, find themselves without any means to earn an income. With schools submerged, children are deprived of their education and their routines disrupted indefinitely.

In these desperate times, your support is not just helpful—it’s critical. Blackstone is committed to ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most, but we cannot do this alone. The challenges are immense, and every donation you make enables us to extend our reach and save more lives. The packs we deliver aren’t just supplies; they are symbols of hope and reassurance to those who have lost everything that help is on the way.

You can make a tangible difference in the lives of the flood-affected people of Sylhet. Please consider supporting our efforts by donating through emergency response campaign.
